When we’re at the top, the peak of a cycle, and all is well, we often forget about our Divine Lens view. We’re content to see life as a physical world because we’re happy and enjoying ourselves.
When we hit a valley, a great loss, illness or heartbreak, we struggle and suffer– until we finally reach for our Divine Lens and remember the gift of the lesson; remember our soul’s wisdom.
This is the purpose of the “valley” – to remind us of what’s important and who we really are.
Once we love the valley, cherish our Divine Lens view and embrace the lesson, we find ourselves happy again and moving forward with another peak in view ahead of us.
This is the sweet spot – still wearing our Divine Lens and yet excited to be moving forward with wisdom and grace.
If you’re in the valley today from job loss or heartbreak, look within, meditate, ask for divine guidance and listen to your soul’s wisdom. Sit still. Take a breath. You can only hear it when you’re quiet, unplugged and receptive.
Become best friends with your inner wisdom and shut out the chatter around you from friends, family and the world in general.
Once you see things from your higher self, your soul’s wisdom, not your ego mind, you’ll feel peaceful, grateful and open-hearted. This is when things will begin shifting for you.
You’ll find yourself moving forward in a new and more enlightened direction, an exciting new summit just ahead. Keep wearing your Divine Lens and cherish the wisdom you’ve gained in the valley.
From my newest book: Your Divine Lens (Release coming soon!)
You need partners and friends whose conversations leave you feeling uplifted and inspired to do something bigger and make a difference.
Your vision of a better world is your gift. Don’t dismiss it or waste time criticizing the way things are now. Tap into your enormous pool of inspiration and find a way to use your vision as the foundation for your work. That mission is the one you came to share.
Your salvation lies in seeing the big picture, following your inspiration, opening your heart and not getting lost in details, drudgery, or routine.
Your highest work requires stepping out of the confines of convention – into alternative worlds of knowledge, spirituality, intuition, and healing. It’s time to embrace your spirituality and use it as your gift to uplift and inspire others.
By spirituality, I don’t mean just reading a book or two, I mean daily connection to the divine through meditation and intense spiritual practice. It’s time to embrace your highest self profoundly enough to build your great work around it.
Let this pain fuel you to move forward and succeed at something that inspires and changes our world. It’s time to quit trying to fit in and be someone you’re not. You’ve hidden your true gifts in order to be loved. But the world will embrace you for who you truly are when you share your story through your great work.
To recover you need to do your work, the work you signed up for that will enlighten the world. Nothing will ease your pain as much as inspiration and accomplishment. Daily spiritual practice, such as meditation, will help you heal, overcome your doubt, and move forward boldly.
-From Bridges to Heaven: True Stories of Loved Ones on the Other Side
Look at this lost and pained soul standing before you who has just hurt you, acted from their ego self, and know that you no longer want to look like them, act like them. They’re showing you a part of yourself that you’re ready to surrender.
All that’s required of you in this moment of anger is to see the other person as a wounded soul doing the best they can from their own level of awareness. Love them for their pain and struggles because you’re just like them. By loving them, you’re healing yourself.
Rise above the unconscious ego behavior they’re showing you – because it’s ugly, selfish and desperate, and that’s not who you are. That’s not who you aspire to be.
One simple breath and a request for guidance, pulls you away from habitual reaction and raises you a notch towards your great soul potential. Thank the messenger for the lesson; thank the soul standing before you who triggered your reaction. Your anger is revealed so that it can be healed.
The next time someone says or does something that triggers your anger, you’ll already be removed from the ego experience, more in touch with your soul’s wisdom, watching it all unfold from your divine lens. You’ll pause, take a breath, adjust your lens, and choose your words gracefully. Compassion will pour through you if you allow it.
This is the gift of your anger. This is the gift of your opponent arriving with their sword drawn, eager to slice a piece of you. In that moment of sacred recognition, everything changes, and you realize that nothing and no one can ever hurt you or tarnish your lovely soul – when you view it through your divine lens.
The most wonderful thing about being human is our ability to choose. In this earthly realm, we’re allowed to experience the perfect combination of destined soul mission and free will – every moment of our lives.
We each come here with a great soul intention to live up to our greatest potential, line our lives up with our highest self, and do great work that helps others. Yet we also hit bumps in the road; loss, illness, financial challenges, childhood pain and relationship turmoil.
Free will allows us to decide exactly how we’ll view each challenge and how we’ll use every gift we’ve brought with us.
No one else chooses our viewpoint for us. We are the ones who determine how we view our life story.
We can choose to view this world as only a physical world with random tragedies and meaningless coincidences. Or we can choose to view life through the eyes of our soul.
When we align our ego mind with the wisdom of our soul – we see things differently. Light pours through us and reveals the hidden beauty of each moment. We see that each challenge was perfectly designed for our highest good before this lifetime began.
We understand that the purpose of each bump in the road has been to help us grow and awaken – which is the primary reason we incarnated into this physical realm. We become empowered with wisdom and compassion.
All it takes is an inner shift of perspective. This occurs when we connect to our higher self through meditation, prayer, choosing love over fear, or simply calling out for divine guidance. A simple request for wisdom and understanding is always answered. Take a breath. Ask now…
